This Month We are Featuring Blaker1983's 67 Coupe. This is one Vicious Classic in the making, as you will see this car has come a long way. Blake, the owner, stole it off of ebay for next to nothing drove it 2.5 hours home and got to work.
He and his father started tearing the car down to the body removing the Original 289 and all the interior. Slowly moving from the front frame rails to the rear bumper removing every spec of rust as it used to have some major salt damage.
The car was on the road and ready to go by February 2008 with all their hard work. The Oringal 40 year old motor wasn't up to their task of full on racing so it quickly came back out.
After extensive research and development they decided on a 87 Roller 331 Truck block from M & R Engines in California. The new setup was installed with a Scat 331, Forged Crank, Forged Eagle H-Beam Rods, custom forged probe pistons with a 10cc dish for 9.5:1 Compression Rate,
lightly ported Edelbrock Performer RPM heads with 2.05 intake valves, comp cams XE282 cam - comp cams chrome moly push rods, ported Weiand Stealth intake manifold, 1" spacer with a holley 670 carb with the horn cut and milled, heddman 1 5/8" headers with 2 1/2" exhaust to flowmaster 40's w/ dumps,
1988 Mustang 8.8" rear w/ 3.73 gears Traction Lok w/ 31 spline axles, built C4 w/ FTI converter and forward valve body mated to a B&M star shifter, and a few other small mods propelling this baby down the quarter mile on motor in the high 11's.
Blaker's Future Plans include a 200 shot of juice, roll cage, and some minor cosmetic touch ups. We appreciate you sharing your project with the community and congrats on being the CFLPonysports.com Ride of the Month for April!
